It has been a number of times that I have eaten in Tim Ho Wan and for each of that, it never fails my palate (ordering different items every time except for the bun, lol).
Baked Bun with BBQ Pork
Baked BBQ Pork bun is one famous order, personally and I think for many as well. I love that it comes to the table fresh and hot and upon biting it, the meat oozes out so deliciously. Surrounding crust outside the bun does not make the texture hard but it’s an addition to the delicious bite one can get.
I am not a fan of sticky rice as I find it very filling on the first few spoonfuls and I don’t usually like the texture of the dish when it gets to my mouth but of course for this one, the taste is quite good, but for me, one of this is meant to be shared.
I am a sucker for good tim sum! And this one above is one of my personal favorite. I like the mixture inside, for a bite, it has that bit of crunchy feeling together with the luscious taste.
First time to try the above dish during this visit and I quite fancy the taste of it. Though for me, it could still be a bit more wasabi-ish, giving that tingling feeling to the nose because of course, if one is not into wasabi, they would not order this for sure.
Above dish which is the rice roll is just average for me. I find that the rice roll overpowers the shrimp. The sauce, however, is mouth watering.
Opposite of the first roll variety, this one is something that I like. BBQ pork, anyone who hates that? :))
Above is another dish that I have tried for the first time on this visit and I like it as well.
I love Tim Ho Wan for its affordable price, but I do hope they could open up the take away mode, haha! And I do understand that as it originates from HK, it is more to tea so they do not serve coffee, but it being in Singapore, I am hoping that they could somehow infuse the menu with Kopi, lol! (just my personal wishes). Will come back here again maybe after 3-4 months. 🙂
