THE Family Computer

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Going Obsolete.”

Of all the technologies that have gone extinct in your lifetime, which one do you miss the most?

Take note of the caps in my subject line “THE Family Computer”, because there is only one Family computer, well at least for me. It was my first experience of gaming, the first very fun moments I had facing a television and actually fighting and cursing with brothers during competitive games. lol. And not only us kiddos back then played this, my parents had fun with it as well! Thus I would not ever forget about it. I still get nostalgic thinking about playing it. Imagine buying and collecting game cartridges, anticipating new games in the shops or do you still remember that time where you had to blow into the cartridge’s edge when the game hangs up on you, or some times giving the cartridge a tap with your palms just to make sure it works. =))

I would not ever forget about playing it, this computer is an essential part of my fun childhood. Ah the smile that this two tone device brings to my face, until today. πŸ™‚

It’s strange how we build connections to intimate objects and their memories endure despite the progression of time. I can barely remember what I had for dinner yesterday, yet I still recall me and my dad teaming up on TMNT on the NES. Great, vivid memories.
