In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Memory on the Menu.”
Which good memories are better — the recent and vivid ones, or those that time has covered in a sweet haze?
Vivid and crystal clear memories are the best of all, regardless if from the recent or years and years back. For memories serve for us to go back in time and somehow feel the same emotions, even if not as exact as it was, and bring back as many details as we can get from that captured snippet of time and savour it thoroughly. I do believe that these vivid, crystal clear memories are the most important, happiest or most significant of all as they allowed us to grasp that particular moment of time and immortalise it in our minds and probably our hearts. Hazy, blurry ones could be anything that happened, fragments of our daily routines that we remember just because we are humans that remember past instances and then our innate ability for recollection. They could be faint because they do not carry the same significance as the vivid ones. Memories, irregardless of time, as long as they touched us in some shape or form, lingers through time with us….
